Commercial Electrical Estimator Jobs in Ohio

·Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

·Familiarity with project management processes and terminology.

·Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project scope and requirements.

·Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

·Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are a plus.

·5+ years proven experience as an electrical estimator in the construction industry (commercial and residential)

5 years’ experience in commercial roofing applications, management, and estimating

Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required

Perform all other job duties as assigned

Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience acceptable

Experience estimating large commercial roofs (over 2,000 Sq. Ft)

Thorough knowledge of construction estimating techniques, engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts

B.S. Degree – Construction Management or Engineering preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Strong working knowledge of estimating software like Timberline or MC2

Working knowledge of programs such as Primavera (P6), Bluebeam, Synchro, Excel, and Word

Participate in project hand-off to Operations to ensure proper transfer of knowledge from Preconstruction to Operations.

Lead the evaluation of subcontractor proposals relative to their scope of work. Determine scope coverage and manage risk of scope gaps.

Responsible for the communication of estimate and scopes of work to the Turner staff, architects, engineers, and owners.

Analyze existing site conditions and all contract documents (plans, specifications, etc.) to determine required scope that is not already indicated.

May supervise Assistant MEP Estimators, Estimating Assistants and/or Interns.

Follow instructions, respond to management direction.

Continually progress from base level of knowledge to take on more responsibilities.

Maintain project budgets and maintain systems of checks and balances to manage project to achieve success.

Assist General Manager in negotiating project bids and estimate project costs.

Assist General Manager in negotiating materials and equipment purchases.

Track project changes and report any required changes to monthly billings to General Manager.

BS or BA required. Preferred areas of study include construction, management, engineering or architecture.

Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating.

3+ years of experience in Estimating, Construction Engineer/Project Engineer, or related duties in general contractor estimating and purchasing.

Requires excellent computer skills (MS Office/Excel) and well-developed budgeting, purchasing and organizational skills
