Have a working knowledge of hand-held calculators is important.

Familiarity with requirements of global positioning (GPS) and geographical land information systems (G/LIS).

General knowledge of hydrographic, mining and photogrammetric surveying.

Knowledge of and familiarization with general applications of CAD.

Knowledge of surveying ethics and technical standards and organizations such as MSPS, ALTA, NGS, ACSM, BLMS, and ASCE.

2-year Associates or 4-year B.S. degree in Surveying/Surveying Technology or the equivalent work experience preferred.

High school education or equivalent and at least four years of construction experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Interpret blueprints, building codes and other design requirements.

Running Robotic total station, Engineers Level, GPS.

Provide grids, lines, control points and elevation.

5+ years of experience as a Surveyor on Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) projects of roadway, bridge, or underground utility construction.

Layout roadway, bridge, underground utility, and other construction projects with survey equipment accurate in both line and grade

Assist the field supervisors in day to day field construction layout

Ensure quality standards are met

Motivate employees while being flexible yet disciplined

Complies with all safety requirements and observes all company policies and procedures.

Previous experience 1-5 years of experience in a hard rock mining environment preferred.

Certifications Survey certification, degree, or formal training course is preferred.

Education High School Diploma / G.E.D. is preferred.

Effective written and oral communication skills, and the ability to convince others to co-operate and contribute.

Proactively check as built for design compliance as areas are mined and provide additional control as required to remediate variances.

Job Offer and Background Process begins shortly after interviews. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.

Prepares field notes and sketches.

Determines exact location of points, elevations, lines, and areas.

Conducts field surveys for construction, design, topographic, photogrammetric, geodetic, hydrographic, property right-of-way, and all types of control surveys.

Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.

Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

Minimum Skill Requirements:Valid Driver's License

Preferred 2-3 years of construction, electrical and/or related experience.

Strong customer service skills including written and verbal communication.

Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.

General working knowledge of computer applications.

Strong initiative, problem solving skills, and capacity for change with new developments.

Requires high school education or comparable GED with one year general construction or shipbuilding knowledge.

ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $88,939.50 - $113,896
