Overview A Child Support Program Specialist is responsible for providing assistance to families in obtaining and maintaining child support payments. They are responsible for helping families to establish paternity, locate non-custodial parents, and enforce court orders. They also provide information and assistance to custodial parents regarding their rights and responsibilities. Detailed Job Description Child Support Program Specialists are responsible for providing assistance to families in obtaining and maintaining child support payments. They are responsible for helping families to establish paternity, locate non-custodial parents, and enforce court orders. They also provide information and assistance to custodial parents regarding their rights and responsibilities. They may also provide assistance to employers in the collection of child support payments. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of state and federal laws related to child support
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and other professionals
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
• Knowledge of computer systems and software
• Knowledge of accounting and financial principles
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
• At least two years of experience working in a child support program
• Knowledge of state and federal laws related to child support
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and other professionals
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
• Knowledge of computer systems and software
• Knowledge of accounting and financial principles
