Cleans and visually inspects the railcar before transfer to ensure that it is mechanically sound

Connects or disconnects loading arm hose for transfer of product

Inspects for any leaks, weighs railcars and completes required paperwork

Ensures that the truck/rail car is secured and inspected at the loading rack.

Transfers product according to procedures.

Checks product weight in truck/rail car to ensure limitations do not exceed.

Support the plant’s quality management systems and its compliance with pertinent quality standards.

Must have strong mathematical, problem solving skills, and computer skills. SAP experience preferred.

Knowledge of chemical operations and batch manufacturing preferred

Willing to cooperate in teamwork, share responsibilities, take direction and advice from others, and train others.

Able to plan and organize multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

3-5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred

Wage: Up to $38/hour (depending on experience).

Manufacturing experience/industrial background - minimum 1-3 years' experience preferred.

Prior experience running a controls system is preferred.

Maintain a clean and organized workplace meeting the housekeeping standard established by the Operations Manager.

Perform minor maintenance activities on production equipment as directed by the Operations Manager.

Conduct DCS operation to manipulate equipment controlled by the DCS.

Ability to acquire sufficient skill and knowledge of the chemical processes in order to conduct operations and processes with limited supervision.

Responsible for the proper operation of the processes.

Perform required checks for proper operation of the equipment and processing using necessary instruments, small hand tools, gauges, or laboratory ware.

Operate power trucks if qualified.

Observe safety rules and practices.

Mount, dismount and operate a variety of models of power lift equipment such as fork trucks, bobcats, tuggers, etc.

The basic equipment includes but is not limited to: chemical hoses, diaphragm pumps, centrifugal or positive displacement pumps, agitators, manual valves.

The operator will be required to follow all site safety rules and trained in the use of specific PPE.

The operator will also be trained in how to recognize hazards, review SDS and emergency response.

Ability to work as a member of a team.

Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.

Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

Complete *assigned training through Arkema learning management system or attendance to assigned Web-Ex or Instructor Led Training (ILT) classes.

Uses troubleshooting skills to resolve process-related deviations and problems; initiates work requests in SAP as needed.

Expected to use or develop computer skills and participate in procedure writing/verification and other AIMS activities.

Utilize "troubleshooting skills" to identify issues and report them to maintenance for repair (e.g., small leaks, replace valves, steam traps, etc.)

High School graduate required with a high mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of pumps, valves, and related gauges.

Chemical operating experience in a continuous-process chemical manufacturing plant preferred.

Work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision and display good oral and written communication skills

Work 12-hour rotating shifts and available to work fair share of scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed

Visualize, comprehend, and communicate the process and equipment based on information from control room gauges, instruments, and computer terminals

Recognize problems and make quick and correct decisions when problems occur

Maintain safe plant operation and product quality through effective use of laboratory skills and knowledge.

Two years industrial experience, college education or process technology training is preferred.

Conduct job duties safely in accordance with plant policies and procedures. This includes participation in

Manage the plant operation through the use of the plant distributive control system, manual operations

Gather and analyze operating and technical information for execution of job responsibilities from:

Maintain first aid training certification.

Communicate with team members regarding safety, equipment status, production, quality, and operational issues using detailed written and electronic notes

Operate equipment in accordance with all safety, quality, and efficiency standards by following written and verbal work instructions.

Follow procedures to safely operate, clear, startup, shut down, and Lock Out equipment related chemical manufacturing safely and efficiently.

Provide initial response to unplanned events to minimize the impact to personnel, the environment, and equipment

Use equipment and instrumentation to monitor and record pressure, temperature, and other process conditions

Perform initial mechanical troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime

Operate remote controlled hoist systems to load raw materials to the process each day

Forklift certification with the ability to move pallets and containers up to 4000 lbs.

Yard Dog/spotter truck certification for moving trailers and ISO containers in the plant

Ability to apply the math skills listed above to calculate potential tank levels after transfers

Basic skills using Microsoft Word and Excel

Monitor plant operations by performing round checks 3 times per shift

Monitors operating parameters by reading gauges, instruments, and meters. Compares readings to known requirements, logs information, and takes action as necessary.

Utilizes job knowledge, equipment specification sheets, and operating procedures to monitor and make adjustments to the process.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Associates Degree in a related technical vocational college or higher and/or 2+ year’s chemical operator/handler experience at a manufacturing plant.

Possess good troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, pressures, and computerized controls systems is desired.

Is responsible for maintaining Safety, Environmental Quality, Product Quality, Productivity, and Inventory accuracy for their area.

Arrange, load, move, package, handle, transfer, label, sample, and document process materials.

Associate degree and/or technical trade certification preferred. 5+ years operating experience in a plant of similar complexity may substitute

o Process training as required for capital projects and/or management of change

o comply with safety instructions of management

o report all accidents, injuries, and near misses to management

Wage: Up to $28.83/hour (depending on experience).
