Certified Occupational Therapy Aide Jobs in California

This work is performed according to the assistant's licensure/certification, Code of Ethics, Federal/State regulations, JCAHO/UMQC and Care Center policies and procedures.

Must have variety of problem solving skills.

Excellent communications skills with internal and external customers.

Recent experience as a COTA in an inpatient setting.

Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in Rehabilitation Services Competency Assessment tools.

Demonstrates age specific care as established for area and job title.

Employee manages all assigned aide responsibilities (i.e. Daily temperature logs, equip check list, cleaning of gym).

Req Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to assist therapists in providing care appropriate to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Employee manages aspects of scheduling that include documenting schedules, listing expected admits and keeping tags updated.

Employee manages all clerical aspects of job based upon area of practice.

Employee attends to ordering supplies based upon department needs/requirements.

Req Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization.

To be eligible for consideration, interested candidates must submit the following documents:

Valid state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Minimum 1 years of experience as a COTA, preferably in a clinical or healthcare setting

Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and interventions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Minimum requirements for education - High School Diploma, Associates Degree preferred

Demonstrates understanding of students’ disabilities

Performs such other duties as may be directed by the Principal or Director of Special Education

Prefer someone with interest in pursing a therapy or educational career

Basic computer and web based programs experience, such as Google meets, chat, etc.

Implement therapy sessions to promote fine motor skills, mobility, hand-eye coordination, and overall function

Active certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledgeable about different physical, mental or developmental conditions and their treatments

Perform initial patient evaluations under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist

Experience in rehabilitation or related field is preferred.
