Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures and safe food handling guidelines.

Assists with food preparation as assigned by supervisor.

Prepares food items according to standardized recipes insuring safe food handling practices.

Assists with the set-up of the food tray line.

Prepare meals under the supervision of a dietary manager or cook

Proven experience as a dietary aide

Further experience in customer service will be appreciated

Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines

Friendly with good communication skills

Starting wages $13.50 / hour

Assists in food preparation and food service to residents.

Prepares and delivers food substitutions to residents as needed and assists residents in setting up meal tray as needed.

Ensures proper sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment, food and supplies.

Ensures that food temperatures are maintained at proper levels throughout service, and storage.

Department: Food & Nutritional Services

Daily Work Times: VST 0500-2200

Assembles and serves meals. Cleans and sanitizes utensils and equipment.

1. Sets up, organizes, cleans and maintains work area.

2. Assembles, serves, and delivers meals; sets up items for special functions and fills requisitions.

3. Performs clean-up duties after meals and special functions; picks up patient trays.

Previous experience in food service preferred

Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred

Must possess outstanding communication skills and be able to follow oral and written instructions

Performs proper setting of trays and tables; serves resident meals in the dining room and delivers trays to resident's rooms

Performs dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assures that utensils, plates, cups, etc. are readily available for next meal

Assist in the preparation of meals and beverages.

Assist with loading food carts and serving meals to Residents and staff.

Bag and store food items as directed.

Clean and wrap silverware, inspecting each piece to make sure it is clean before wrapping.

Bus and clean tables after mealtime throughout the facility.

Scrape, wash, and rack unclean dishes and utensils.

Must have excellent verbal and written (read and write) communication skills.

Must be available to work every other weekend and Holiday.

28 Hours Per Pay Period.

Assists with dining room set up and clean up with each meal.

Assists with setting up trays, serving meals and beverages as needed including the delivering of carts.

Assists with meal preparation as needed, makes juices for meals and prepares for snack time.
