Behavior Mental Health Specialist Jobs

Demonstrated thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by way of treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload.

One year experience where the primary responsibility was provision of mental health or counseling services.

Conducts mental health screenings and assessments based on a review of available records, and clinical interviews with inmates.

Documents treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.

Provides case management services on 30 to 90 day basis to ensure continuity of ongoing service delivery.

Consults with Security, Medical, Classification and other departments as needed in inmate related mental health concerns.

Provides care based on the patient’s established care plan, under the supervision of the registered nurse.

Observes patient’s behaviors and when necessary notifies appropriate staff.

Assists in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects patients’ rights.

Monitors the milieu for changes in patient behavior. Also observes interaction between patients and visitors.

Accompanies patients for medical evaluation outside of the facility.

Trains and coaches other staff on the implementation of effective and safe crisis management techniques

Requirements For a Behavioral Health Specialist - Behavior Analyst

1-2 years of experience in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting.

Clinical Mental Health Specialist Qualifications

$25 per hour pay rate

Assumes overall management for completion of call and documentation for disposition.

Promptly accepts telephone service requests, responds to incoming calls within three rings, as observed by supervisor.

Performs assessment and makes appropriate disposition as indicated by feedback from receiving program/referral; caller satisfaction and supervised observations or other provider.

Documents assessments, interventions, and interactions with callers in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies.

Handles phone requests under time and decision-making pressure.

Generally pleasant working conditions in a clean, well-lighted, and quiet to moderately loud setting. Crisis intervention is a common occurrence.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

Demonstrates knowledge of core measures and guidelines to meeting requirements.

Plans, directs and evaluates individualized nursing care based on identified problems and age specific/developmental requirements: Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Takes the initiative to obtain additional education related to scope of practice. Functions as a preceptor and mentor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Helps implement the classroom behavior management system.

Assists Special Education Teacher in the classroom providing education services to children.

Assists children with self-care skills and activities of daily living, encouraging developmentally appropriate, independent behavior.

Previous experience with children (3½ – 21 years).

Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary staff team implementing each child’s treatment plan.

Be available via text and e-mail for remote work as needed.

Conduct intake with new clients to determine if they are a fit for our services.

Hold weekly therapy sessions with individuals and groups.

Write up reports and track client progress.

Combat veteran or veteran first responder (we need one of each)

Providing law enforcement services in the unincorporated area of the county

Protecting the community from public health threats such as communicable diseases

Coordinating countywide responses to domestic violence and terrorism or other emergencies
