Assistant Copy Editor Jobs in Texas

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

1 year experience in news editing. Background in fast-paced breaking news, government/politics, or city reporting preferred. Copy editing experience a plus.

The ability to work and manage effectively within time constraints and deadlines.

You have experience and comfort with unscripted content - especially for YouTube.

Our post team is currently fully remote - so ability to work from a home set up is required.

Must be proficient in Premiere Pro and have a general knowledge of Adobe products.

Experience with the larger Adobe suite, especially Photoshop and After Effects, is a plus.

Experience with Maxon Universe, especially PluralEyes, is a plus.

Experience editing for social media (TikTok, Instagram, etc) is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Manage projects by setting due dates and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.

Edits content per the in-house AgriLife Digital Education Style Guide.

Formats and edits materials according to web accessibility (ADA compliance) requirements.

Two years of related experience in writing, editing, proofreading, and updating electronic content.

Experience with Adobe InDesign and InCopy.

Superior verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail

Print (print ads, out-of-home, point-of-purchase, signage, direct mail, catalogs, etc.

Broadcast (radio and TV scripts)

New business and client presentations (brochures and books, PowerPoint)

In-house materials (correspondence, promotional material)

Edits and proofs legal language and disclaimers for certain clients. Editing and proofing comments will vary between soft and hard copies
