Apparel Product Designer Jobs in New York

Manage workload and ensure that personal work areas are organized, efficient and tidy

Understand different materials and production processes, and continue to build on that knowledge

Concisely and courteously offer critiques for products and samples in a timely manner

B.F.A. or B.A. in Fine Arts or Design recommended, but not required, based on experience

Three to five years previous design experience required

Adobe Creative Suite required and 3-d experience preferred (AutoCad 3D, SketchUp)

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field and/or 2+ years of experience in Product Management or related field.

Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Support the Product Management team in executing product strategies and delivering innovative products.

Hybrid: Current- Three (3) days per week in-office, Two (2) days remote (Monday/Friday)

Hybrid: September 2023 - Four (4) days per week in-office, One (1) day remote

Assist with sample organization, coordination and data entry

Broad knowledge / understanding of garment construction across categories

Ability to manage time effectively while multitasking on simultaneous projects.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with at least 2+ years’ prior design experience in womenswear

Excellent verbal and written communication skill

Seeking a Senior Designerfor our growing international apparel division.

This position will be based in New York.

Organized, amazing with time management and attention to detail

5-8 yrs apparel design experience

Must have excellent communication and organizational skills

Knowledge of PLM systems and how to use them

Expert knowledge of apparel design and garment construction

Expert knowledge of performance fabric and trims

Ability to effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner.

Possess thorough knowledge of apparel design and development; merchandising procedures, product materials, construction and production techniques.

Knowledge of computer design software as well as the talent and ability to perform free hand drawings

Bachelors' degree in Apparel Design, with minimum 4 years' progressively technically sophisticated experience in product design.

Demonstrated ability to apply these skills in innovative ways that elevate brand excellence.

Knowledge of and sensitivity to trends influencing design in general, and in fashion / active specifically.

Flexibility & Time Management: ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and take responsibilities for deadlines

Design degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

In-depth knowledge of Adobe design tools: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator (strong flat sketching and CAD skills required)

Manage the design process from concept to production while partnering with the VP to ensure alignment on priorities and direction

4-6 years relevant knit design experience (children ‘s wear experience is ideal but not required)
