Analytical Staff Scientist Jobs in Maryland

Perform routine and complex research laboratory techniques, including sterile cell culture, molecular biology, and small rodent handling.

Educate, train, and supervise new students and research staff that assist in the project.

Keep the laboratory prepared for safety inspections.

Prepare progress reports for the PI and assist in the preparation of grant submission.

Master’s degree in the field of biology, biochemistry, or related field is required.

PhD in related field is preferred.

GLP study director or project management experience required.

Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. biology, zoology, environmental science, marine or fisheries science) with 15 years of experience

A PhD in a relevant field may be substituted for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and experience.

Study Director responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

Completes work for research and development under GLP guidelines for studies, documentation, etc.

Ensures compliance with cGMP and safety requirements within the QC analytical laboratory

Conducts training on applicable SOPs, regulatory requirements and quality initiatives

Knowledge/expertise relevant to QC analytical methods used for protein chemistry and molecular biology

Broad experience with biochemistry , as well as generating/reviewing the documentation that supports such work

Possesses the knowledge and ability to apply basic scientific and regulatory principles to solve operational, as well as routine quality tasks

Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K are all offered from day one of employment

Perform routine testing such as filter integrity testing, TOC, pH, conductivity and HPLC. Experience with ELISA testing preferred but not required.
