Have 1 year of grounds maintenance experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Knowledge and experience with accounting procedures.

Office experience with a working knowledge of office procedures, supervisory experience, and willingness to work as a team member.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite.

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, and delegate.

Maintain department budgets by tracking spending and providing budget reports to the chair and area heads.

Categorizing purchasing card expenditures, collecting, and filing receipts, and checking in and out department purchasing card.

Must have knowledge of basic customer service skills; demonstrate courtesy and respect toward others.

Complies with all state and federal laws and regulations related to higher education.

Six months to two years of similar or related experience is required.

Requires basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel with aptitude to learn the phone system, email system and other technology applications.

Keyboard and 10 key calculator skills are required.

Must have good verbal and written communications skills.

Horticultural training and/or grounds management background, particularly in historic gardens

At least three years of professional gardening experience

At least three years of garden administration or office administrative experience

Strong English communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Participates actively in the daily care and maintenance of gardens and grounds.

Works independently or as part of a team, under the supervision of a crew leader.
