Job Description

Role Summary/Job Duties:

  • Perform cleaning as well as general maintenance of facility and grounds maintenance this includes but it not limited to cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, cleaning glass, picking up litter, mowing, shoveling.
  • Operate ice resurfacing machine to resurface the ice

  • Responsible for opening and closing the facility.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations that ensures the facility operates in a safe manner.
  • Clean dasher boards and glass and maintain cleanliness of maintain seating areas, locker rooms and other areas.
  • Supervise and monitor guests utilizing the facility.
  • Sharpen skates for customers.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate some mechanical aptitude, ability to perform minor operating adjustments and recognize operating deficiencies in assigned equipment
  • Knowledge of applicable work hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to relate to and work with individuals representing a variety of diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to professionally exhibit cultural sensitivity, patience and understanding in the course or work duties
  • Ability to solve problems according to established policy and procedure
  • Ability to provide a level of customer service that meets/exceeds customer expectation and satisfaction
  • Ability to perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (morning, day, evening and weekends).
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups.
  • One year of driving a ice resurfacer or large machinery

Hours:

  • Times vary based upon facility and include evenings and weekends.
  • This is a part-time position of up to 20 hours per week
  • Shifts range from mostly 4-6 hours each
  • Majority of shifts are Friday – Monday
  • MANDATORY: to work between November 24-26, 2023 for a large event
  • Position is seasonal part-time from September – mid-March. Limited number of staff may remain on year-round.

  • Parade Ice Garden, 600 Kenwood Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55403
  • Northeast Ice Arena, 1306 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413
  • Applicant must be able to work at both locations

Background Investigation Required:
We conduct a background check. Compensation:
$15.75-16.75 depending upon qualifications
This position is eligible for sick and safe leave in accordance with the Minneapolis Sick and Safe Time Ordinance. This position is not eligible for other benefits.
