Essential Functions

• Monitors that passengers adhere to transportation policies including remaining seated with all parts of body inside the vehicle while vehicle is in motion, no food consumed on the vehicle, no beverage other than water in a bottle or cup with a lid, and not allowing smoking or use of tobacco products.
• Adjusts driving to weather and road conditions to stay within safe limits, such as reducing rate of speed and allowing more distance between vehicles.
• Ensures the safety of self and passengers by operating the vehicle in a safe and reasonable manner in compliance with all local and state laws, within the range of posted speed limits, and monitors that seatbelts are worn appropriately by all individuals.
• Drives service vehicle following the route drafted by the CSS Manager in order to pick-up and drop-off agency clients, transporting them to and from agency locations in order to attend mental health appointments. Service vehicle is not to be used for unauthorized trips or for the purpose of transporting staff members to and from locations.
• Performs maintenance procedures as outlined on the pre-trip inspection form on a daily and weekly basis and initials each item as completed. Completes daily vehicle logs to include passenger information, number of trips provide, odometer readings, and other required information.
• Operates the electric lift for wheelchair passengers according to manufacturer guidelines and as detailed in the Transportation Policy.
• Completes maintenance tasks including filling the vehicle with gasoline, cleaning interior and exterior of vehicle, and reporting need for vehicle maintenance or repairs to the Transportation Coordinator
