Driver

Collects refuse or recyclable material from containers and dumps into truck, on a designated route.

Essential Duties

• Collect refuse or recyclable materials by operating hoisting device that raises bin or container into truck.
• Communicate with dispatch on an ongoing basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management
• Drive truck within a designated route and frequently push/pull bins from enclosures.
• Maintain good customer relations and cleanliness of vehicle at all times.
• Complete pre and post trip inspection.
• Transport load to disposal area.
• Must be available for shifts scheduled on weekends or holidays

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to follow instructions
• A valid Class “A” or “B” California Commercial Drivers License and have a clean driving record. This position requires the review of motor vehicle records (MVRs) prior to or during consideration of application as well as ongoing review through California’s Electronic Pull Notice (EPN) Program
• Be able to communicate in English and have ability to understand and complete route sheets.

Training And Experience

• One (1) year of Commercial driving experience, required.

Physical

• Ability to operate a truck and must be able to continuously lift up to 70 lbs.
• Be able to climb in and out of the truck cab frequently and be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Working Conditions

• Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind, snow, fog).
• Will be exposed to moderate noise and dust levels.
• Will be exposed to changing road conditions and closures.
