Youth Sports Official - Soccer

Salary Range: $13.65 - $35.28 hourly

Hiring Range: $13.65 - $23.92 hourly

Job Summary

The Youth Sports Official – Soccer position is an integral part of the City of Greeley’s Recreation Division and is responsible for officiating events for all levels of competition and providing a fun and safe environment for youth of all ages.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills

• Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Officiating and/or playing experience preferred.
• Develop and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff and the public.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.

Essential Functions

• Understand how the game is played and apply the proper principles and techniques used to officiate recreational sporting events.
• Assist in preparing the gym/field for play by setting up any necessary equipment and inspect the site to ensure participant safety.
• Work effectively and productively in a fast-paced environment.
• Act quickly, calmly, and appropriately in emergency situations.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Ability to handle participants, team managers and/or coaches under difficult game situations.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Strength and stamina enough to walk, stand, stretch, bend, lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors and in adverse weather or extremely hot conditions, where one may be exposed to loud noises, dust, fumes, and chemicals.
• Sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Vision to perform physical activities, read computer keyboards, reference books and other written documents.
• Workdays may extend from early morning to late evening, as well as weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Frequent interruptions and heavy public contact.
