The Radiology Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham (BID Needham) offers a wide array of personalized services for our patients. We have short wait times and technologists whose top priority is accommodating you. As a community hospital, our staff offers a personal touch not always found at larger institutions. Our radiologists are members of the medical staff of the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston.
Possesses the knowledge of procedures and policies related to the Radiology department. Activities are specifically directed by the manager. As lead, manages the day-to-day clinical operations of radiology staff, prioritizing workflow, and ensuring the clinical competency of each radiographer, and works to resolve clinical problems as a liaison. Performs a wide variety of specific and specialized duties and procedures on inpatients and outpatients in accordance with orders of physicians. Performs these duties using independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility and quality of work in designated areas of procedures as required. This position requires a high level of technical and informatics knowledge and skill, and the ability to work in close cooperation with members of a team of physicians, nurses and other technical staff. The individual must be able to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands and to seek managerial assistance as appropriate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. MA license in Radiography and ARRT in Radiography required.
2. Prior experience and knowledge with PACS and CR technology preferred.
3. Minimum 1 year of diagnostic radiology experience, preferred.
4. BLS certification required.
POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age groups of patients regularly served; seeks assistance from resources if other age groups need care.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Generally clean, well lit, air-conditioned area. Exposure to occupational levels of diagnostic ionizing radiation. Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals
PHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED;
Physical ability to meet the core job responsibilities in accordance with practice setting demands for patient populations regularly served. Requires ability to lift patients on and off x-ray table, lift 10-20lbs daily, requires wearing lead aprons and requires being in front of computers for several hours a day.
SAFETY:
Completes Hospital and Departmental orientation; then annually completes Employee Comprehensive Education, Sexual Harassment, Compliance, and other required trainings and competencies as assigned from time-to-time, and within established timelines for completion.
