Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies
  • Collects and documentation of patient information, including vital signs, chief complaint, review of medications, allergies, health risk screen information, the status of extended care benefits, and other services
  • Assists physicians and nursing personnel with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care procedures as directed
  • Performs Chest, Extremity and Torso-skeletal X-Ray procedures
  • Proper, concise, and complete EMR documentation and paper-based documentation for all assessments and procedures
  • Delivers high-quality patient care through face-to-face, telephone, and electronic contact for the purpose of examination, treatment, monitoring, and preparation for diagnostic tests or procedures
  • Instructs patients on lab, radiology, and other procedure/testing preparations
  • Assists with tasking, phone calls, and messages; documents all actions are taken
  • Participates in visit closure with patient and clinician by explaining next steps for lab, x-ray, RFS, DME, etc.
  • Prepares and cleans patient rooms and set up instruments and equipment according to protocol while maintaining infection control

Required Qualifications:

  • BLS certification or willing to obtain by date of hire
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program
  • Current California X-Ray Technician Limited Permit
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
  • 1+ years of experience working as a Medical Assistant
  • Phlebotomy certification
  • Bilingual English and Spanish

California Residents Only: The hourly range for California residents is $18.80 to $36.78. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
