The New York Post provides readers with the best in News, Sports, Pop Culture, and Entertainment – with signature wit, irreverence, and authority averaging 90 million unique monthly viewers. Over the past 221 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television, and commerce.

The New York Post Digital Network seeks a passionate Commerce Writer/Editor with a commercial mindset, strong understanding of our audience, and the ability to engage them through compelling storytelling to work across our various outlets including New York Post, Page Six, Decider, and Alexa, and play a crucial role in executing and elevating our commerce editorial strategy.

In this role, you will create exceptional service-first revenue-driven content that resonates with our audience and guides them in making smart purchasing decisions while also providing editorial support to our Commerce Editor when needed. Reporting to the Commerce Editorial Director, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of our rapidly-growing digital commerce division within a dynamic and respected national media brand.

As the ideal candidate, you should have impeccable grammar and a strong understanding of AP style, SEO and affiliate marketing. You can thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy finding new revenue opportunities. If you are eager to elevate your career and have a genuine interest in writing, shopping, and continuous learning, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities Include

  • Tailor written and edited content to align with The Post’s signature voice and appeal to the target audience’s needs, interests, and preferences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify growth and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure high-quality, error-free content by reviewing and editing articles for clarity, grammar, and style.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, content strategies, and evolving best practices.
  • Optimize content for a seamless reading experience across devices and platforms.
  • Provide editorial support across the New York Post network and its current and upcoming partnerships.
  • Conduct thorough research on various products, brands, and services to provide accurate and reliable information to readers.
  • Assist the commerce team with additional content maintenance tasks and projects as needed.
  • Work alongside the Commerce Editor to plan, assign, and maintain a content calendar.
  • Incorporate latest SEO techniques to improve content visibility and search engine ranking.
  • Write a minimum of five articles per week.
  • Stay updated on the latest innovations, industry trends, content strategies, and evolving best practices in the shopping and e-commerce industry.
  • Research, write, and edit engaging and informative articles, product reviews, buying guides, and other shopping-related content.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in SEO-focused commerce writing and/or editing.
  • Willingness to learn new programs as needed for business improvement.
  • Deadline-driven mindset with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in creating affiliate links and analyzing affiliate data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency in AP Style Guide, CMS, HTML, content management systems, data tracking systems, and SEO tools (e.g., SEMRush, Google Trends, Google Search Console, AI).

Note: The NY Post adheres to a hybrid work schedule.

Salary Range: $31,200 – $125,000

At The New York Post we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, our ranges reflect our good faith estimate to pay fairly as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.

In addition to compensation, the company provides eligible employees a comprehensive and highly competitive benefits package, with a variety of physical health, retirement and savings, caregiving, emotional wellbeing, transportation, and other benefits, including “elective” benefits employees may select to best fit the needs and personal situations of our diverse workforce.

As an equal opportunity employer, the New York Post does not discriminate in hiring or the terms and conditions of employment because of an individual’s race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. The New York Post will consider the provision of reasonable accommodations to known physical or mental disabilities of otherwise qualified applicants to enable them to participate in our application process and to effectively perform the essential functions of the job, unless doing so would impose an undue financial or operational hardship.
