Job Description
A workforce development specialist is responsible for designing and conducting training and development programs to significantly improve organizational and individual performance. You will perform a few duties that include evaluating training delivery modes, such as virtual or in-person to optimize training effectiveness and costs, developing, obtaining, or organizing training guides and procedure manuals, and coordinating the placement of trainees. As a workforce development specialist, you also have to choose and assign training instructors and negotiate contracts with clients.


Responsibilities:


This role includes working as part of a team to conduct one or more projects in strategy, business, or organizational assessment, workforce assessment and human capital management, process improvement, change management, and communications, or program support.


Project work can include organizational development efforts that range from strategic planning to tactical implementation of programs and a variety of product development (such as workshops, trainings, briefings, reports, plans, and road maps).


Activities include:


  • Ability to manage the development and delivery of technical and functional training and corresponding resources.
  • Manage multiple assignments from multiple people in busy work environment.
  • Ability to communicate with government officials.
  • Anticipating risks and proactively implementing solutions.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, take meeting notes, record taskers and actions, and update the staff when necessary.
  • Working in teams to provide solutions and services to client challenges. Specifically, supporting initiatives, programs, and projects in the areas of strategic planning, executive coaching, employee engagement, leadership development, and technical training.
  • Ensuring program effectiveness by responding to changing circumstances and remaining aware of opportunities for continuous improvements.
  • Developing and implementing project approaches. Collecting a variety of qualitative and quantitative information, analyzing it using appropriate methods and frameworks, and communicating results in concise and compelling ways to decision-makers.
  • Designing and facilitating workshops, training, and events related to leadership development, employee engagement, and strategic planning.
  • Draft reports and create data visualizations of human capital and workforce planning information for use in presentations for leadership.
  • Coordinate and schedule virtual platforms, training, or conference rooms for in-person training, and update calendars with confirmed training dates.


Required Qualifications :


  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a team lead or supervisor.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in human capital development, organizational change management, strategic workforce planning, or career pathing.
