Job Description

Humana Healthy Horizons in Indiana is seeking a Workforce Development Administrator (Workforce Management Lead) who will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing workforce development activities for Humana Health Horizons in Indiana Medicaid plan. Through collaboration with Indiana FSSA, providers, and other key community stakeholders, the Workforce Development Administrator (Workforce Management Lead) will support efforts to build, train, and retain a robust healthcare workforce, particularly direct care workers and home and community-based service providers to ensure Humana members have access to services in the setting of their choice.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Humana at state agency and community meetings related to health care workforce development, as needed.
  • Collaborates within the health plan to ensure Humana’s provider network has:
    • Sufficient qualified workforce capacity to provide services.
    • The required level of workforce that is interpersonally, clinically, culturally, and technically competent in the skills needed to provide services.
    • Connected workplaces with an internal capacity for developing their workforce and/or are connected to external workforce development resources.

  • Organizes development of an initial Indiana health care workforce assessment, including workforce forecasting and planning, to inform deployment of impactful initiatives to retain and grow a well-trained workforce. Ensure assessment is updated annually.
  • Sufficient qualified workforce capacity to provide services.
  • Routinely presents updates on Humana’s health care workforce initiatives and progress to health plan and segment executive leadership.
  • Analyzes all available health care workforce data to inform Humana’s health care workforce strategies
  • Provides technical assistance on workforce development, such as recruitment, training, and retention strategies, to network providers, as needed.
  • Develops, deploys, and manages a portfolio of initiatives with community partners and providers to recruit, train, and retain health care workforce, particularly long-term care and direct support workforce, across the state of Indiana.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors Humana’s annual health care workforce development plan.

Required Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four (4) or more years of health care workforce development experience, including but not limited to developing initiatives to recruit, train, and retain health care workers.
  • This role is a part of Humana’s Driver Safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and drive day to day work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to travel in-state and willingness to commute to Indianapolis on a weekly basis.
  • Must reside in the state of Indiana, ideally Indianapolis.
  • Two (2) or more years of project leadership experience.
  • Expertise in health care workforce assessments, forecasting, and evaluation.
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills.

Work at Home/Remote Requirements

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone and computer equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree.
  • Experience working for or with Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) providers and/or direct care workers.
  • Prior experience in Portfolio Management.
  • Understanding of qualitative and quantitative impact analyses.

Additional Information:

  • Travel: Up to 15% travel in the state of Indiana to meet with the state agency and to Humana office locations.
  • Workstyle: When hired, Remote with weekly travel into Indianapolis, IN with the possibility of transitioning to Hybrid Home after market implementation. Hybrid Home is considered working 1-2 days per week in the Humana Healthy Horizons office in Indiana and 3 - 4 days working remotely.

Interview Format

As part of our hiring process, we will be using an exciting interviewing technology provided by Modern Hire, a third-party vendor. This technology provides our team of recruiters and hiring managers an enhanced method for decision-making.

If participating in a SMS Text interview, you will be asked a series of questions to which you will be using your cell phone or computer to answer the questions provided. Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed, and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.
