Operate and maintain the site by optimizing wind generation availability and performance through established procedures with the highest regard for health, safety and environment compliance

What you’ll do:

  • Demonstrate the consistent use of Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques when solving plant abnormalities and equipment failures
  • Perform routine inspections – safely using tools (e.g. multimeter and IR Camera)
  • Support operations at other sites during unusual events (emergencies)
  • Coordinate work on site between different contractors
  • Support other wind assets including solar generating sites for planned and forced outages-may require overnight stays
  • Recommend operating and/or maintenance changes that will enhance plant performance and availability
  • Demonstrate procedural compliance in all site operation and maintenance activities by utilizing established procedures
  • Ensure site equipment is kept at the highest possible standard maximizing availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability
  • Comply with all contractual and legal obligations impacting plant operation
  • Use computerized Work Order, Purchase Requisition and Receiving software
  • Primary point of contact for all landowners
  • Must be able to analyze complex problems under the pressure of emergency conditions
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information available to the position
  • Demonstrate work planning skills, activity scheduling and follow up to assure work conformance
  • Facilitate and implement all daily work as the on-site Tech, including coordinating with service providers, contractors, producing Reports including but not limited to Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reports
  • Perform the housekeeping functions and equipment cleaning necessary to maintain the site in a clean and neat condition.
  • Equipment operation training – contractors’ orientation, other site’s employees
  • Coordinate Switching and Curtailments with relevant local utilities and ISOs
  • Carries out other duties as assigned
  • Ensure site safety rules are communicated and adhered to through Site Specific Orientations, JSAs and Tailboard Meetings
  • Monitor site performance
  • Manage contractors, ensuring quality work, completed safely and promptly
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints, earning trust, and resolving conflict situations
  • Operate site equipment, both directly and remotely
  • Manage Spare Parts inventory

What you bring:

  • Required to be on call as deemed necessary by Supervisor
  • Required to have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in WTG site, Power Plant, Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Maintenance
  • Have experience a plus; Able to attain AVO substation technician certification within 12 months of hire
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Trades qualifications an asset: (Lineman, Electrician, Millwright, Control Technician)
  • Reside within 50 miles of the site
  • Ability to effectively use diagnostic equipment
  • Must be able to personally respond to plant emergencies
  • Be proficient in using wind turbines SCADA systems such as GE Wind SCADA or Siemens SCADA or other similar WTG control and monitoring systems
  • 3-year diploma in a technical program or equivalent experience
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain substation equipment such as: electrical control circuits, transformers, high voltage breakers and collection lines

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

  • Must hold or obtain a valid passport and be able to travel internationally with minimal restrictions
  • The position consists of 50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors, outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

  • Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
  • Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
  • Must be able to operate a computer terminal, Calculator (or have the capability to learn)
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on limited occasions
  • Could involve some lifting / up to 50 lbs

The pay range for this role is: $47,090-112,710. USD The listed salary range represents ENGIE’s good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries across all U.S. locations. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their work location, and additional factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package and certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
