JOB SUMMARY

This postion will be located at Farley Nuclear Plant, near Dothan, AL. The successful candidate must have 4 years previous experience as a welder and must also possess TIG welding experience.

Starting rate of pay is $47.99/hr. Southern Company offers a wide menu of healthcare and dental insurance for individuals or family and a prescription drug plan. Successful candidates will be responsible for relocation expenses if relocation is required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• TIG welding experience required
• 4 years previous welding experience, required

Successful candidates must pass the Welder Job Criteria consisting of a written test and a two-part welding test.

Welding test to consist of 2" ex heavy carbon steel open butt in the (6) G position

Welding test to consist of 2" socket weld test

• Must be trainable and willing to develop career.
• Strong safety awareness and history of adherence to safety practices.
• Work environment may include working in adverse conditions such as poor weather and hot and cold temperatures, and at elevations.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Ability to work shift work and overtime after hours work including evenings, night, weekends and holidays is required.
• Must possess oral and written communication skills.
• Must be respirator qualifiable.
• Successful qualification on MASS(Nuclear) pre-employment assessment.
