JOB DUTIES

Base pay starts at $20.00 per hour

Shift: Day Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive job duties from team lead
• Select and set up welding equipment
• Ensure welds meet standards and specifications
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion
• Use a plasma torch, grinding wheel, band saw or other instrument for cutting metal
• Follow work procedures and tool and material requirements
• Use a rod or wire and heat to join metals
• Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded
• Fabricate metal building and metal roofing components

• Working well under pressure – Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
• Attention and care required to prevent injury to self or others when performing work
• Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to company and OSHA safety guidelines
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
• Resilience – Ability to recover from, or adjust to, misfortune or setbacks
• Technical Aptitude – Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ambition – Drive to achieve personal advancement
• Autonomy – Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
• General Tidiness – Ability to keep department and machines clean at all times
• 2 years’ experience in welding/fabricating
• This position is required to work in a manufacturing environment facility and at times on job sites
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat and vibration
• Honesty/Integrity – Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace
• Wear the proper protective equipment as required
• Ability to read blueprints
• Self-Motivation – Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative
• Agreement to wear protective equipment for exposure to glare, burn, and shrapnel
• Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time
