Job Description
smartdept. inc is searching for a well-rounded creative for a Web Designer position available with an Advertising Agency client of ours in Oak Park, IL. The ideal candidate will come with 2-3+ years of relevant experience creating web designs from scratch for desktop and mobile web. This is a full-time, fully remote, contract-to-hire opportunity. Candidates local to the Chicago area will be required to come on-site twice a week if within a 20-mile radius of our client's office in Oak Park, IL. The pay for this position is expected to be between $50/hr - $60/hr depending on experience level and fit.


What You'll Do


  • Collaborate with other designers, art directors, creative directors, copywriters, developers, project managers, clients, and account teams
  • Design for a wide range of client deliverables in accordance with client requests, for website creation
  • Utilize brand guidelines and other assets provided by the client, ensure that branding is accurately represented in all deliverables
  • Design and contribute assets to support a larger client project or campaign
  • Design using Adobe Creative Cloud tools (special focus on Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) with a particular focus on visual communication
  • Collaborate with project managers to help prioritize and hit deadlines with quality work
  • Design or help design career sites including learning how to design for third-party/partner templated sites


What You'll Need
  • 2-3 years of experience creating digital and web assets using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with integrated cross-channel campaigns (a plus)
  • Proficiency and/or knowledge of other design apps (ie. Sketch, After Effects, etc.) (a plus)
  • Ability to work with multiple clients concurrently
  • A creative portfolio displaying a range of creative work with examples across media channels including web design, and other digital media
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual communication or related field required
  • Exceptional detail orientation and follow-through
  • Specifically: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and in a high-volume environment
