Minimum Training & Experience


WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR TRAINEE

Minimum Training and Experience

Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalent recognized certificate. Studies should have included courses in basic mathematics and chemistry.

Necessary Special Requirements

Applicant must be at least eighteen years of age.

Must obtain a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Class "C" Wastewater Plant Operator's Certificate within two years of date of employment in this job class.

Must possess a valid Class E State driver’s license at the time of appointment.

WASTEWATER OPERATOR I

Minimum Training and Experience

Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalent recognized certificate and one year of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater plant. Studies should have included courses in basic mathematics and chemistry.

Necessary Special Requirements

Applicant must be at least eighteen years of age.

Must possess and maintain a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Class C Wastewater Plant Operator's Certificate.

Must possess and maintain a valid class E State driver’s license as a condition for continued employment.

WASTEWATER OPERATOR II

Minimum Training and Experience

Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalent recognized certificate and two years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater plant. Studies should have included courses in basic mathematics and chemistry.

Necessary Special Requirements

Applicant must be at least eighteen years of age.

Must possess and maintain a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Class B Wastewater Plant Operator's Certificate.

Must possess and maintain a valid class E State driver’s license as a condition for continued employment.

WASTEWATER OPERATOR III

Minimum Training and Experience

Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalent recognized certificate and four years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater plant. Studies should have included courses in basic mathematics and chemistry.

Necessary Special Requirements

Applicant must be at least eighteen years of age.

Must possess and maintain a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Class “A” Wastewater Plant Operator's Certificate.

Must possess and maintain a valid class E State driver’s license as a condition for continued employment.

Salary Range


$12.2397 to $51.6756/hourly.

Additional Information


Preference will be given to those applicants who possess a FDEP Class C Wastewater Plant Operator Certification.

12-hour shifts with rotating days and nights.
