Job Description

Summary:


The warehouse operations manager leads and manages all aspects of the site warehousing safety, quality, staffing, productivity, attainment, inventory, and customer requirements. They also may be responsible for managing 3PL and/or vendor relationships as needed to support the operation. The warehouse general manager will demonstrate effective communication, accountability and both tactical and strategic planning to set and achieve warehousing requirements and KPIs.


Responsibilities and Duties


• Negotiate and manage contracts and relationships with 3PL, service providers and vendors as needed including contractual compliance, business reviews and strategy alignment.

• Ensure warehouse KPIs, processes, and procedures align to meet customers’ specifications.

• Oversee and manage the interdepartmental relationships and business needs between the warehouse and plant operations, maintenance, and quality.

• Work collaboratively with support functions (EHS, Quality, HR, etc) to ensure warehouse employee, process and equipment needs are fulfilled.

• Ensure the accuracy of ERP and other warehousing systems as it relates to warehousing, inventory, and supply chain.

• Lead any necessary ERP, WMS or other system implementations or upgrades from a warehousing perspective working closely with other departments and stakeholders as needed.

• Drive overall P&L performance, forecasting and financial improvements YOY by instilling a culture of continuous improvement and leveraging process improvement and problem-solving skillsets.

• Manage both physical and system inventory accuracy through execution of daily, weekly, and monthly inventory processes including corrective and preventative actions to prevent inventory discrepancies.

• Oversee any warehouse related compliance audits, CAPAs, investigations, etc including maintaining change controls for all core processes.

• Develop and manage warehouse operation excellence program to meet productivity and attainment targets including throughput, material variance, equipment utilization, inventory management/Inventory out of service, and shipping, receiving and shuttle requirements.

• Collaborate with training and human resource department to implement and sustain effective hiring, onboarding and retention programs in the warehouse supporting the Mission, Vision and ACTIONS.

• Champions all safety initiatives within the facility to ensure all safety goals and objectives are met, maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.

• Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and work within the ACTIONS and BOS to provide business updates, remove obstacles, drive accountability and effectively escalate as needed.


Training, Education & Experience


• Bachelors’ degree preferred, Associates acceptable with a required concentration in a Technical Discipline (Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management).

• Desired 5-7 years of related experience preferably working in a Food/Beverage facility or equivalent industry experience.

• Experience and understanding of 3PL (warehousing and logistics) processes and systems preferred.

• Must be able to support/oversee a 24/7 operation as needed

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated coaching and leadership development skills • Knowledge of OSHA, SQF, GMP, HACCP, FSMA, plant production systems, sanitation, plant safety, quality systems, and regulations
