This person will be responsible for all personnel and operations at the managed facility and for maintaining the physical warehouse and equipment. The General Manger’s primary goal is profitability achieved through sound operations that protect customers’ goods and meet operational and customer satisfaction goals. In the process the General Manager ensures compliance with Company policy and procedures, utilizes resources efficiently and promotes a safe work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Manage office and warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Supervise staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Scheduling and assigning workflow of all personnel.
- Direct transportation of materials by following methods and procedures of materials to warehousing and production areas (where applicable) and product from departments to customers.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse or production inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Receiving AIB score of 900 points or above.
- Support Human Resource operations ensuring appropriate documents are accurately completed and maintained in personnel files while maintaining confidentiality.
- Manage account receivables including contacting past due customers to ascertain payment.
- Protect shipments by investigating causes of damages and deficiencies in consignments as well as accuracy of billing utilizing the rates and practices of customers.
- Control inventory and production levels (where applicable) by conducting physical counts and reconciling with system software.
- Safeguard warehouse or production operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols and obtaining shipper and receiver authorizations.
- Participate in planning new account strategies; prospects for new accounts, make sales calls, develop and quote rates and close sales.
- Ensure correct and timely handling of product within the established Cloverleaf policies and procedures. Utilizing appropriate, defined practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Supervise export compliance, understand export processes and maintain documentation and communication between all affected personnel, USDA, and customer. Validate accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with mandated guidelines.
- Enforce safety policies by conducting inspections, reporting statistics, counseling employees, and identifying and correcting infractions.
- Collaborate departmental workflow between warehouse, production, office, and corporate administrative departments.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Assure that customer accounts receive prompt, efficient service from the office and warehouse staff. Maintain appropriate contact with all accounts and respond promptly to all requests. Control inventory and production levels (where applicable) by conducting physical counts and reconciling with system software.
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, distribution, and production (where applicable) operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing processes and procedures to meet customer service excellence.
- Support assigned duties of senior management to assist in the business of the company.
Required Skills:
- Basic accounting skills
- Problem solving abilities with attention to detail
- Strong warehousing, distribution, or production knowledge
- Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, & Outlook
- Excellent communication skills with ability to read and write English
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree desired
- 5-7 years warehouse or production management
- Knowledge and experience in Safety/OSHA/EPA/Risk Management
- Proven leadership abilities
Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate will work in an office environment with prolonged work schedules and frequent exposure to extreme cold and noise. Some travel is required including overnight travel.
