We are a leading manufacturer and distributor in the Catholic and Inspirational Gift industry seeking a Warehouse and Inventory Supervisor to join our team! You will work with the sales team, warehouse team and accounting team to service our customers’ needs by ensuring we have the inventory we need when we need it and to further ensure it gets to our customers in a timely manner (business customers only, no consumers.) - Warehouse Responsibilities:
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results with proper coaching of the team and notifying management proactively of issues that may arise.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Release orders daily in order to have a proper amount of work for the team once they arrive.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results with the assistance of management.
- Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting monthly cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts; reconciling with SAP with the assistance of the management team, and investigating shortages when/if needed.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures; and ensure all good arrive in proper condition and per orders placed.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Work with management to use the tools available to make the warehouse more efficient; this includes the UPS scanner gun, realigning the layout of the warehouse for better flow, and coming up with ideas and suggestion for continuous improvement.
Inventory Responsibilities:
· Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures to track orders and ensure timely delivery;
· Assist with coordinating external logistics staff (e.g. truck drivers; Aries; UPS/Fed Ex/DHL) according to availabilities and requirements;
· Supervise orders and ensure inventory levels to ensure they meet customer needs;
· Plan and track the shipment of inventory and customer orders according to customer requirements. Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts;
· Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, executed orders etc. within the SAP system. Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts);
· Prepare accurate reports for management as needed/requested;
· You must be detail oriented, so inventory remains at the proper levels and orders get out the door on-time and accurately;
· Must be flexible and willing to change focus and direction as needed, as priorities sometimes shift, and you need to be able to change direction as business needs change.
Work Environment:
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday and additional responsibilities in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Current days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9AM. to 5:30 PM.
Qualifications:
- Deadline and detail-oriented to ensure the proper orders get shipped to the proper customers on time and accurately
- Cooperative and easily able to get along with others;
- Minimum 3-5 years previous warehouse experience, preferably in an environment with many SKU’s and working with multiple countries, including China and Italy; and preferably at a supervisory level.
- Deadline and detail-oriented to ensure inventory remains at proper levels, logistics companies are processing and delivering orders and time, and orders get shipped to the proper customers on time and accurately;
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience is required; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and make accurate independent decisions;
- Hands-on experience with purchasing software. SAP and Accounting Suite knowledge is a plus;
- Good understanding of inventory procedures;
- Well organized;
- Hard working and on-time;
- Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Computer skills with email and Microsoft Office required.
