Job Description
Position Summary


Support the goals of the Company (Marcraft & Johnson) by providing expert assistance on all facets of industrial painting. Industrial spray painters operate spray-painting equipment to apply protective coatings to manufactured items or structures.


Functions Of The Position


  • Spray coatings (such as paint, water-based paints, epoxy) onto manufactured products to provide finished surfaces
  • Move items to drying areas and unload and stack them for further painting or packaging
  • Prepare surfaces for paint - removes grease, dirt & rust
  • Touch up defective areas of painted items
  • Clean nozzles, containers, and hoses of machines
  • Must be able to pass respirator fit test
  • On occasion mix hardener and paint to meet the requirements of the customer


Industrial spray painters usually work in noisy factory or construction environments. Most of their time is spent standing or bent over. Protective clothing, masks and goggles must be worn when handling poisonous materials.


Experience


  • 3 to 5 years of experience with industrial equipment or automotive spray painting a must
  • Ability to use tape measure
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform basic shop math
  • Experience painting very large items a plus
  • Some forklift experience is a plus
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications


Working Conditions And Physical Requirements


  • Ability to work Monday through Friday - 6:00a-2:30p & OT as needed
  • Factory environment
  • Ability to occasionally work Saturdays
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday - 2:30p - 11:00p & OT as needed
