Sony Electronics is seeking a VR Software Engineering Intern based in San Diego, CA.

You have an opportunity to join a group tasked with designing and implementing software for the latest and greatest stereoscopic display. The Sony Spatial Reality Display allows 3D objects to be viewed spatially without special glasses. We are looking for someone to take over the renderer integration project and oversee its integration into all the major DCCs.

The position requires strong software development skills, expertise in C++, Python, OpenGL and the ability to design high quality, robust, and easy to maintain code and tools. The engineer is primarily responsible for creating plugins that would connect the Sony Reality Display with DCCs like Maya, Blender, Houdini. This would enable designers to view contents of the DCCs in 3D on the Sony Spatial Reality Display. The ideal candidate has an interest in AR/VR, is a technical expert in software development for graphics and understands the rendering pipeline. To fit into this role, candidates must excel at multitasking in a highly dynamic environment and be capable of working closely with software architects and domain experts both inside and outside of the organization.

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $20.00 to $30.00. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base wage offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
