Job Description

Join a successful, well-established Continuing Medical Education (CME) company that delivers innovative educational programs and resources to healthcare professionals. You will be a key member of a dynamic company whose mission is to make a meaningful impact on the advancement of medical knowledge, clinical skills, and improved patient care.


In this Educational Strategy/Business Development role, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing grant funding opportunities from commercial supporters (new and existing), evaluating and responding to RFPs, and closing contracts. This role involves prospecting and networking at conferences and meetings and developing thought leader relationships. You will establish, develop, and manage supporter relationships. In this collaborative role, you will work with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop medical education strategies, guide needs assessment development, and manage the grant development process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide status updates to senior management.
  • Stay updated on accreditation standards and ACCME guidelines, maintaining the highest level of educational quality and integrity.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for educational/strategy development that aligns with the company's mission and business goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop medical education strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal team that develops needs assessments.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with supporters.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to enhance educational offerings.
  • Develop and grow grant funding opportunities through understanding of key therapeutic areas, including oncology/hematology, infectious disease, cardiology, etc.
  • Prioritize grant opportunities in an expeditious manner.
  • Identify grant funding opportunities, initiate grant proposals, evaluate RFPs, and develop effective thought leader relationships.
  • Attend industry and medical conferences and participate in literature reviews.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to grow existing supporter business, identify prospective supporters, develop proposals, and close contracts.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in CME/CE with 3+ years’ experience in business development in CME.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing grant funding for innovative educational programs.
  • Understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and educational technologies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to drive evidence-based decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of CME accreditation requirements, including accrediting bodies such as ACCME.
