Job Description
Palladian Partners is a full-service strategic communications and marketing firm that provides leading edge strategy and execution to federal health agencies (e.g., NIH, FDA, CDC) and nongovernmental organizations. We are 130 professionals strong and growing. Join us as VP/SVP Client Experience and you’ll lead some of Palladian’s largest integrated accounts; enable and empower clients to develop effective strategies to promote behavior change; create strategically targeted communications that inform, educate, and empower; and deliver results that improve millions of lives.

The VP/SVP, Client Experience reports directly to the firm’s second-in-charge executive, who oversees work across our service areas (Strategic Communications, Digital, Creative Services, Conference Services and Editorial Services). In this role you would lead large, integrated accounts and teams, and drive both organic growth and new business. You will be a hands-on leader that embraces our overall culture. We are a company of doers at all levels. This is a hybrid role, currently reporting to Palladian’s office in Silver Spring each Wednesday and to other in-person meetings as required.

  • Strive for a deliberative, results-oriented, equitable, inclusive, transparent and mission-driven workplace.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH

  • Leverage prior agency or consulting experience to anticipate opportunities and pitfalls, and develop appropriate strategies for the best possible outcome for clients and the firm
  • Build and nurture client relationships by providing team leadership and strategic guidance to clients
  • Work together with the senior team to retain and grow current clients, attract new clients, and expand capabilities and offerings
  • Lead proposals, bids, extensions and recompetes, and help ensure market-appropriate and competitive proposal design and pricing

TEAM LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

  • Work with Palladian’s senior leaders to strategically recruit, hire, and develop people and teams
  • Support growth, productivity, and impact in measurable, tangible ways
  • Build and develop talent to drive the future success of the organization

CLIENT LEADERSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT

  • Coordinate with project directors in their contract-level performance, budget and management, as well as their risk review and mitigation efforts.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients, account leads, and other key stakeholders and business partners
  • Develop and execute innovative and creative solutions for account teams to offer Palladian’s clients
  • Help ensure both the business and individual accounts are profitable and sustainable
  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction across the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a college degree and 15 years of relevant technical experience, including at least five years of experience managing large, complex teams. Prior communications firm and/or government consulting experience is a must. Palladian employees are highly talented and are encouraged to think and work creatively and strive for excellence.
