About Our Client
My client focuses on Youth Sports and Development, helping to organize and streamline national events, practice and game scheduling, as well as individual athlete data. Additionally, internally, this is where you can go and invoice the parents, do payroll, input schedules for athletes, and everything that needs to be handled internally. After experiencing immense growth over the last 5 years, they're seeking a VP of Software Engineering to be a key player in growing their platform and mobile application utilizing React Native. The Software Engineer will join a growing team of 8 and report directly into the CTO.

As the VP of Software Engineering will:
  • Perform daily standups with team members to ensure optimal success and efficiency.
  • Strategize roadmaps with executive leadership.
  • Lead 15-20 developers working in C# and ASP.NET in greenfield development agile sprints.
  • Remain up to date with development breakthroughs and follows best practices.
  • Lead all discussions involving future developments, gaps in technology, external vendors and managing current software vendors.
  • Use, rework, and adapt existing web applications for mobile apps.
  • Take charge of development team without needing micromanagement from upper leadership.
  • Create and test software prototypes when needed.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (Director level or Engineering Management/Lead Experience sufficient)
  • Clear documentation.
  • A desire to have an impact on the world with the software being developed.
  • Strong proficiency with C# and ASP.NET.
  • Experience working with REST APIs.
  • Experience using SQL databases - either relational and/or non-relational experience.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, always looking to create robust solutions that minimize excess redundancies.
