Engineering Operations Software Engineers specialize in the design, implementation, and maintenance of productivity systems (JIRA, Nextup) for our Product, Design, and Engineering organizations. They work closely with cross-functional teams to assess the needs of the business, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of how teams track work.

What you will be doing:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and develop solutions.
• Deliver your quarterly projects/features on time and within scope to help your pillar meet OKRs.
• Create and configure projects with workflows, issue types, screens, associated schemes and other elements typical of a highly customized JIRA system.
• Develop and implement JIRA administration policies and procedures.
• Configure JIRA instances to ensure optimal performance and stability.
• Train admins and users, promote best practices and support internal customers.
• Integrate JIRA with third-party systems such as Slack, and other internal/external tools
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Create schemes for permissions, notifications and security.

What you should have:

• Understanding of code/configuration deployment with Github, Chef, Jenkins, and Terraform
• Strong critical thinking and strategic planning skills
• Experience supporting the system architecture of both JIRA Cloud and Server instances
• DevOps, systems administration, or IT background
• Understanding of relational databases, SQL, and JIRA database architecture
• Experience using JIRA Rest API and scripting/automation in JIRA
• Excellent communication skills and experience supporting technical and non-technical users.
• Understanding of Agile, Scrum and other SDLC methodologies
• 1 - 2 years as a JIRA system administrator
