VP of Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory & Compliance

Food Manufacturing

Location: Illinois

Package: $220,000 - $280,000 + 50% Bonus Potential, Benefits

Are you an experienced and dynamic leader in the field of Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance? Our client is hiring for a Vice President to join their team as they drive transformation and ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance in our industry. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you will play a key role in shaping the organization's commitment to food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.


The company themselves turnover circa $100m per annum but are part of a global parent company who employ 3,500+ people worldwide with 14 locations across the US and Europe.


Some of the responsibilities (but not all) include:


  • Develop and implement robust quality assurance, food safety, and regulatory programs that align with industry guidelines and requirements.
  • Lead quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage supplier approval process, material traceability, and supply chain compliance.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to provide expert insights.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to achieve long-term business success through effective quality and regulatory practices.
  • Drive process control, improvement, and inspection procedures to ensure exceptional product quality and safety.
  • Lead Crisis Management protocols, investigations, and internal audit processes to maintain the highest standards.
  • Monitor and support Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability initiatives aligned with core values.
  • Establish and integrate a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) that fosters a strong food safety culture.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in inspection methods, techniques, and documentation.
  • Proven track record in developing and enhancing HACCP programs to drive compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Collaborative leadership style and talent development experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations, coupled with strong Food Safety expertise.
  • Ability to assess risks strategically and provide recommendations that align with quality and regulatory guidelines.
  • Willingness to travel (~30%) to various locations and conferences as required.
