Job Description

We are looking for a VP of Payroll to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.


Responsibilities:


  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, making recommendations for process improvements or corrective actions.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement payroll systems and technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
  • Develop and implement the payroll department's strategic vision, goals, and objectives in alignment with the overall organizational strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing payroll operations, including tax laws, labor laws, and employment standards.
  • Streamline payroll processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for automation and standardization.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the payroll team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular audits and internal controls to mitigate risks, identify discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislative changes and industry regulations affecting payroll, implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze payroll data and metrics, identifying trends and patterns to drive process improvements and cost savings.


Qualifications:


  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, including timekeeping, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Deep knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, labor laws, and employment standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing payroll systems and technologies, including implementation and optimization.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in payroll operations
