Job Description

Description:Overview of the Role
The VP of IT is responsible for overseeing the growth, innovation, and long-term technology strategies of GPO’s IT department, while providing general management and support to the technology team. They must coordinate technology needs with outsources vendors for efficiency and cost effectiveness as well as assist the EVP in researching, planning and implementing new technologies to improve member access and staff efficiency. This position also contributes to the development of the Credit Unions strategic plan and supports corresponding initiatives.
Requirements:VP of IT Responsibilities

  • Develop plans for implementation of new projects and coordinate those processes with the EVP, CFO or project leader. Provide well-defined plans including, procedures, documentation, deadlines and accountability.
  • Exhibit teamwork by ensuring hardware, software and network support is provided to staff in a professional, courteous and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan for the network.
  • Assist with all other duties as assigned.
  • Support the initiatives of other departments as needed by providing technical support and consultation.
  • Provide technical support and consultation to staff relating to all aspects of computer operating systems. This includes working with our core vendor CMC Flex with regard to software updates and hardware maintenance and system saves.
  • Review IT Policies annually and recommend changes if warranted
  • Develop configuration, performance and security standards for the network and all operating systems. Implement and monitor controls to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Evaluate business needs; objectives and goals; research products available and designate procedures and systems to best meet those needs.
  • Make sure all regulatory and annual testing is performed within guidelines
  • Develop and maintain the strategy and future direction of LAN and WAN technologies and protocols, voice over IP, telecommunication, hardware and software.
  • Supervise and direct daily operations for GPO’s IT department by ensuring the security of the credit union’s data and systems, and driving changes/enhancements that support the overall credit union objectives.

VP of IT Qualifications

  • Efficient and detail-oriented individual with a positive attitude
  • Ability to adapt to different environments and job task
  • Ability to work with multiple vendors and to keep them on task
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting experience
  • 10 years of IT management experience preferred
  • Prior IT experience in a financial institution preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Prior Supervision of IT staff
  • Experience with Windows AD, IBM iSeries, Linux, ESXi and various cybersecurity products

VP of IT Physical Demands

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $112,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
