Vp Of Financial Reporting

Job Summary:

Responsible for the ongoing reporting of Everspan's financial statement activity on a US GAAP and US Statutory basis. This includes preparing/reviewing statutory quarterly and annual statements, preparation of monthly GAAP and Statutory flash reporting, and reporting information to the corporate office of Ambac as needed, primarily in support of the SEC filings and supplemental schedules. This role also includes supporting the CFO with respect to regulatory requests, budget and forecast and maintaining appropriate internal controls over financial reporting for Everspan.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Accounting and Reporting

1. Preparation of monthly GAAP and Statutory Flash schedules
2. Assist in preparation of SEC Filings and supplemental reporting for P&C segment
3. Prepare/Review statutory statements (6 companies}, including, but not limited to

1. Preparation/review of insurance related schedules and notes

2. Preparation/review of Supplemental Filings (MDA, IEE, Combined}

- Preparation of Statutory Audit Report

1. Consolidated Report for all pooled entities

2. Stand Alone audit for entity not in the pool

- Assist in preparation of annual Risk Based Capital

- Review, develop and execute accounting policies in conjunction with the corporate

parent

- Assist in loss reserve analysis

1. Provide information on program performance for external actuary

2. Monitor performance against expectations to assist in determining if a loss pick

requires revision

- Preparation of quarterly memos

- Record goodwill amortization and non-admit on goodwill

- Review Reinsurance Risk Transfer Checklists for new and renewal contracts

- Provide support on statistical filings

• Budgeting and Forecast

- Assist preparation of annual budget

- Oversee quarterly revised premium projections

- Assist in Budget vs Actual Analysis

• Assist in preparation of Board materials
• Assist in AM Best review

- Develop/provide ongoing support schedules to internal team to support BCAR and RBC

modeling

- Support on AM Best's supplemental review questionnaire

• Internal Controls over Financial Reporting

- Ongoing oversight of controls matrix, policies and procedures and process maps

Other Job Duties:

• Work directly with internal and external auditors
• Partner with the technology group to evaluate processes to identify efficiency improvements Project management on technology initiatives as needed
• Other ad-hoc matters
• Work closely with the Everspan team to ensure company and corporate objectives are met Serve as finance liaison to corporate parent

Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and US Statutory
• Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues and deal with a variety of high priority situations
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
• Approximately 10 years relevant experience working in the P&C insurance industry
• Public company operating experience a plus
• Proven ability to thrive in a creative, dynamic, fast-paced environment, and work both independently and in a team environment, shifting between the role of an individual contributor, team player and project manager
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a concentration in accounting from an accredited institution Certified Public Accountant
• Knowledge of Wdesk, Tableau and Power BI Software preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of process flow mapping, design and documentation of business process and general information technology controls, controls testing, evaluation of control deficiencies, and remediation plans required
