The VP Marketing / CMO, Hro Global Community will be responsible for leading all marketing functional responsibilities (including brand, product, retail, and integrated marketing), leading a marketing team to support Hro business efforts worldwide across a consumer product ecosystem that includes both physical (“hybrid”) and digital products on a digital engagement platform. The VP Marketing / CMO, Hro Global Community will work across multiple IP and develop a deep understanding of specific consumer segment communities, in order to develop a marketing strategy including go-to-market plan and line architecture, effectively creating demand for Hro products across physical and digital mediums, engaging and retaining the consumer base within the ecosystem, and generating sustainable revenue and profit growth. Working with internal functional partners as well as external retail, experience, PR/comms, agencies, and IP / licensor partners, in order to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution.


What you’ll do as a The VP Marketing / CMO, Hro Global Community:

· Develop Hro marketing strategy and lead marketing team across the marketing functional disciplines: brand marketing, product marketing, and integrated marketing (including digital marketing, community events, PR/communications, and media strategy)

· Use consumer insights and data to crystallize perspective on target collector communities and marketing levers (physical and digital) necessary to reach, engage, and retain that consumer set. Direct and support market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data for short- and long-term market forecasts and reports

· Build global marketing and GTM strategy that accounts for consumer / community differences and leverages different GTM tactics and toolkits

· Develop competitive perspective including brand and product positioning, marketing strategies and partners, retail strategy, etc.

· Lead marketing team across functional disciplines across the funnel:

o Brand marketing: Help consumers in the community target understand and want the Hro product. Create strategic top-of-funnel plan and execution steps: awareness of overall product (Hro) as well as individual IP titles (e.g., DC Comics). Develop short- and long-term visions for product to help inform the brand architecture, international positioning. Socialize and monitor KPIs to ensure return on marketing investment, building growth of the Hro brand and key Hro initiatives.

o Product marketing: Understand market fit, including market landscape and consumer use cases. Inform the product build (with platform / engineering team) based on consumer needs, insights, and strategies—particularly attuned to collector community behavior. Develop GTM strategy and plan including awareness, consideration, and conversion. Determine strategy for launches and trial campaigns. Apply marketing knowledge to sell physical products at retail as well as digital products online and in-app.

o Integrated marketing: Work with external agencies / internal team to build advertising and marketing strategy and execution. Includes executing live events and leveraging influencers / brand ambassadors for grass-roots marketing efforts. Manage digital marketing campaigns to ensure consumer conversion. Help drive timely execution and implementation of marketing campaigns that drive toward business objectives and leverage relevant demand creation channels and media

· Build, manage and coach a high-performing marketing team (including remote / disparate and virtual teams across regions and partners)

· Manage external partners including agencies, licensor / IP partners, and experience / event partners

· Effectively engage and work with internal partners including functional teams and executive management, as well as external partners including retail, experience, PR/comms, agencies, and IP/licensing partners

· Work closely with regional and country sales departments to align global sales and marketing strategies with locally relevant and effective customer marketing tools

· Manage overall marketing budget and expenditures

· Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels

· Build long term relationships with employees, partners, clients, and key stakeholders

We’re looking for a The VP Marketing / CMO, Hro Global Community with:

· MBA or BA degree in Marketing, Communications, or relevant field

· 5-10 years of previous work experience as a Marketing Director

· Experience developing local / global PR / communications campaigns

· Strong knowledge of and experience with content creation across physical (retail; events / experiences, etc.) and digital channels (digital advertising / paid media, social media strategy)

· Experience leading and managing high-performing marketing teams

· Aptitude managing external partners (marketing agencies, media buying, etc.)

· Experience with global product rollouts, ideally for both digital and physical products

· Commercially rooted, including experience managing a product marketing budget as well as contributing toward an overall product P&L

· In-depth knowledge of market research and insights management

· Critical thinker with core problem-solving skills

· Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills–oral and written, excellent interpersonal skills

· Ability to establish credibility with peers and leaders.

· Experience instituting marketing execution processes with accountability for deadlines

· Sense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on company’s success

· Skilled with consumer and marketing research tools, data, and metrics

  • Must be able to handle and safeguard sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner.

· Works quickly and proficiently in typical MS office software suite

· Experience managing large teams as well as working with diverse cross-functional teams

· Attuned to consumer needs including quantitative and qualitative analysis to define key consumer need states

· Current with competitive product offerings (including product adjacencies), to ensure line architecture is competitively attractive for consumers

· Highly proficient with media planning including both digital and physical media levers

· Can confidently develop project plans and see them to conclusion

· Can manage multiple concurrent initiatives and can drive to established goals and timely deliverables

· Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal and written)

· Ability to work collaboratively across functions, organizational levels, and cultures

Organizational:

· Must be able to organize, plan, deploy resources, and prioritize to meet multiple overlapping and competing deadlines.

· Ability to independently establish departmental objectives and identify alignment gaps with Company strategy and operating activities of other departments

· Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels

· Ability to identify resource requirements, argue persuasively for their deployment and manage these resources for the achievement of agreed-upon objectives

Decision-Making and Problem-Solving:

· Must be able to identify problems and use data as well as facts, observations, and opinions (discerning among the three) to determine appropriate solutions. Must be able to use intuition, logical reasoning, and innovation to solve problems.


Physical requirements, working conditions and travel:

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues.
  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems.
  • Travel to support Hro internal and external meetings, including global travel in order to assist managing global product footprint.
  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead.
