As a key member of the IT Leadership Team, the VP of IT Infrastructure & Operations will provide technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing infrastructure related information technology initiatives that support GMR’s mission, improve cost effectiveness, and ensure stability, reliability, and a secure environment. The VP will lead in planning and implementing information systems to support both clinical and business operations and achieve more cost beneficial IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, guide and maintain IT operations systems strategic and operational plans in support of the overall clinical/patient-focused mission and business strategy.
• Lifecycle Management - Provide advice on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure related technology, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.
• In partnership with the CIO, develop and execute on the 3 – 5 year strategy for the infrastructure & operations team – aligning with GMR’s strategic plan
• Responsible for ensuring all systems are fully documented and updated in our ITIL systems (e.g., CMDB)
• Responsible for the development, maintenance, and adherence of capital, operating, and project relevant information technology budgets.
• In conjunction with the CIO and VP, IT Customer Experience, maintain and mature an ITIL based IT operations governance program that includes service delivery, change, incident, event, and problem management.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationship contact with IT suppliers and maintain knowledge of current technology, equipment, prices and terms of agreements to minimize the investment required to meet established service levels.
• Responsible for the coordination, facilitation, and consultation with all respective leaders on information systems, communications, and patient business services systems initiatives.
• Mentor, develop, retain and recruit staff.
• Partner with GMR CISO, Applications Leaders, and Audit to ensure successful ITGC pass rates and continuous compliance.
• Consistent Delivery of GMR’s Vision: Customer Service (Trust), Service Delivery (Consistency, Governance, Stability & Reliability), Teamwork (Partnership, Communication, Cooperation), and Technology Excellence.
• Assist networking and cybersecurity peers with building, testing, and implementing a best of breed business continuity and disaster recovery program.
• Develop and maintain enterprise systems architecture, defining standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, software, and interconnection of relevant information systems.
• Develop, Operationalize, and Mature GMR’s vulnerability management program for all of infrastructure related assets, physical and virtual.
• Responsible for the management, continuous delivery and operation of multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, telecom and telephony architecture.
• Partner with the GMR Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), to assist with strengthening enterprise security capabilities, emphasizing standardized procedures and best-practices for system management as well as addressing any vulnerabilities associated with patch management.
• Develop and maintain an appropriate organizational structure capable of supporting the technology needs of operating entities through appropriate and cost-effective solutions.
• Develop an IT and business leadership reporting mechanism for relevant IT operations metrics and special reports, as related to the IT governance problem.
• In conjunction with the CIO, drive enterprise policy and decision-making regarding resource allocation and future direction and control of proposed information systems.

Education

• BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, OR equivalent combination of years of experience and education (minimum HS Diploma)

Required Skills

• 5+ years of IT leadership experience in a health care setting is preferred. Experience should also include substantial exposure to both in-house and shared or outsourced systems, multiple hardware platforms, and integrated information and communications systems. ITIL Certification highly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in managing functions and departments dealing with information technology operations and systems.
• 3+ years of direct multi-site management of a national IT operation.
