Job Description

Scientific Products, an ATS Life Sciences Company, is searching for a VP - Global Operations!


Reporting directly to the President of SP Industries, this role has responsibility for establishing, overseeing, evaluating, and driving management direction for all Manufacturing, Project Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement related disciplines for the equipment divisions in the US, UK and Spain. This senior-level position serves as an integration point for all functions in the execution of projects and as a focal point for customer interface at an executive level. The VP of Global Operations is responsible for setting improvement targets across safety, quality, delivery and cost; and to deliver improvements by developing and improving the Continuous Improvement culture in all operations. The role is responsible for providing the growth capacity to achieve the overall business growth strategy.


The Vice President, Global Operations, is accountable for several key objectives:

  • Developing a continuous improvement culture and capability based in visual daily mgmt., standard work & problem solving
  • Providing a high level of customer satisfaction through the PMO, quality and on-time-delivery
  • Lead the Sales, Operations, and Inventory Planning Process (SIOP)
  • Strengthen the quality management system across the organization
  • Delivery of projects on time and on budget.
  • Delivery of key Operational KPI’s (e.g., Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, Engagement)

Details of Responsibilities

  • Directs capital expenditure and asset redeployment activities, controls the human resource cost and growth and provides leadership in the preparation and implementation of effective operating budgets for the division(s).
  • Contributes, with Executive Leadership Team (ELT), to understand trends, potential future opportunities, and challenges.
  • Ensures compliance with all pertinent laws relating to health, safety and the environment along with driving a strong safety culture.
  • Motivate and manage a direct team of high performing operations leaders including Lean, Quality, Sourcing, Distribution and Plant Managers.
  • Continuously challenge the manufacturing and supply chain footprint to maximize asset utilization across business units and to optimize manufacturing strategy initiatives across the organization to reduce lead times and create a competitive advantage in customer service.
  • Ensures planning for short-term objectives and the annual operating plan is influenced by the multi-year strategic plan and objectives.
  • Lead all operations functions and strategy to support cross functional portfolio innovation and growth initiatives.
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to continuous improvement using ATS Business Management (ABM) to reinforce and build the Lean culture with Daily Management, Standard Work, Problem Solving and Kaizen.
  • Leverages and communicates key analytics to identify issues, foster decision making and drive accountability.
  • Acts as an integration point and cross-over manager for all operational disciplines while liaising with executive level peers to set and deliver on overall strategy.
  • Leads PMO and participates, when required, in project status meetings to review schedule, customer satisfaction, and financial performance while providing guidance on action and risk mitigation plans.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in business or related field preferred.


The Vice President, Global Operations must have the following experienced:

  • Experience leading a Lean Transformation in operations.
  • 10 to 15 years’ experience as a senior level executive leading operations in a multi-plant, global environment.
  • Operations experience in sourcing and manufacturing large project-oriented systems which take 6 – 18 months to complete
  • Operations experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • The following experienced would be preferred and would be a plus:
  • Facility operations, project management, financial management, regulatory compliance, planning development and global sourcing


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has supervisory responsibility for all plant manufacturing, sourcing, quality, PMO safety functions.
