VP, Business Analytics & Financial Planning & Analysis


What We Need


FLEETCOR is seeking a VP of FP&A and Business Analytics, for the North America Fuel business. The position will be located in FLEETCOR’s Tennessee office in Brentwood, being a key member of North America Fuel business team and specifically to support the North America Trucking business. The candidate shall be experienced leader to oversee both Financial Planning & Analysis, and the Business Analytics function. He/she will lead the analyst team to deliver timely and accurate financial plans and forecasts, conduct in-depth analysis into the business risk and opportunities, perform ad hoc analysis and modeling exercise to support business and strategic decision. The candidate will also make recommendations and lead implementation for business initiatives with cross-functional teams. This role will have significant senior leader exposure and critical impact on the continued success of the business. The candidate needs to have advanced analytical skills, be able to synthesize complex and diverse information, research data and draw conclusions. FLEETCOR is looking for an individual with outstanding business and financial acumen, creative problem-solving ability who can develop alternative solutions. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working fast-paced and complex environment. Additionally, he/she must be a strong collaborator, recognized for building credibility, commitment and energy within the team and with business leaders.

Role Responsibilities


The responsibilities of the role will include:


  • Developing and maintaining data work flows and audit processes to ensure pricing accuracy and recover revenue leakage
  • Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis around various business subjects, providing valuable data-driven insight to facilitate business decision making
  • Developing financial models to drive decisions on new products/partners and advise on new customer pricing, utilize statistical analysis tools to generate models predicting customer & market trends to develop and adapt business strategy accordingly
  • Monitorin g revenue performance on a regular basis, providing in depth variance analysis and business outlook to senior leaders
  • Creating monthly executive management packages highlighting financials and strategies for business lines
  • Developing internal reporting packages and metrics, creating presentations and communication for executive management.
  • Supervising of other personnel will be required
  • I dentifying business model improvement opportunities and actionable initiatives through robust analytics, leading and collaborating with different working stream teams to implement the initiatives
  • Collecting, validating and analyzing business data to drive optimization and improvement of product development, pricing techniques and other business strategies;
  • Leading the financial planning process including short-term forecasting, budgeting as well as strategic long-term business planning
  • Collaborating with LOB owners and functional leaders to ensure delivery of expected financial results, proactively propose and push for actions to mitigate risk and improve financial results


Qualifications & Skills


  • Deep understanding of data domains, models, and implications for analytics use in at least one industry, including telecommunications, cable, finance, media, advertising, or similar
  • Strong business presence, capable of understanding various business functions and problems, ability to structure frameworks to solve those problems
  • Strong team building and leadership skills…balance of hands-on and effective delegation
  • Experience developing enterprise grade analytics solutions using Cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) and managing analytics solutions at every stage of the analytics lifecycle from ideation to production
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of data/analytic software/languages/tools.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and managing analytical projects/teams
  • Hands-on experience in engineering tooling, practices and processes, experience managing projects during engineering and delivery phases
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills. The ability to successfully comprehend and communicate advanced analytics artifacts, business insights, and resulting implications to non-technical business partners. Ability to work with a diverse team
  • 5-10 years’ experience in an analytical type role, expertise in advanced analytics (data science, Machine Learning, Cloud operation) with balanced technical knowledge, operational experience and business acumen.
  • Deep working knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile/Rational)
