Job Summary:
A telephony technology engineering firm is expanding and has an opportunity for a Voice/ Telecom Engineer who can provide telephony support and guidance to the technical support team and company. This will involve ensuring that the telecom technology is adhering to best practices and addressing technical challenges to continue the company’s goal of delivering exceptional solutions.
This company’s deep industry knowledge and expertise of telecommunications, wireless, IT, video and mobile network provides their clients a wide range of technology services. They are also providing solutions to companies to follow the FCC mandate initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Thorough understanding of call routing and processing between end-to-end systems (CPE, Access, Core and Peering infrastructure).
- Ability to multi-task, pivot on-demand and adjust priorities based on workload in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of FoIP and Fax related systems and servers as it relates to the Healthcare, Municipalities, and Insurance industries.
- Thorough understanding of basic Networking principles such as LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, UDP, SSH, TELNET, ICMP, SNMP, NTP, FTP/SFTP, etc.
- Understanding and working knowledge of UNIX/LINUX kernel based servers and systems
- Expert knowledge of Analog and Digital VoIP Gateways (ATAs) as well as 4G/LTE and 5G Wireless Routers.
- Expert knowledge and experience in key VoIP signaling protocols such as SIP and Media protocols (RTP/SRTP and SIP/TLS), SDP, RTCP and Transcoding.
- Experience with Session Border Controllers (2+ years preferred) and ability to diagnose issues by collecting and analyzing TCPDUMPs, Wireshark captures, call ladder diagrams, etc.
- Knowledge in VoIP, IMS and VoLTE architecture is a plus.
- Must be a great team player who can communicate clearly and precisely with both internal and external organizations and vendors.
- Possesses thorough understanding of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signaling call flows and ability to analyze and perform deep-dive packet analysis which may include DTMF interworking.
- The ideal candidate will have experience as a Voice/ Telecom Engineer, including strong telephony knowledge and expertise, as well as driving the operations side of the business.
- Strong knowledge and ability to perform interoperability and troubleshooting of Life Safety Speciality systems such as Fire Panels, Security Panels, Elevators, etc.

- Hands-on experience with Voice/ Telecom issues including solving complex problems. Expert-level knowledge of sector technology and processes.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology/ telecommunications, management information systems, or related field or equivalent related experience
This position is in the office and may be remote occasionally as the business unit requires.
