ABOUT THE ROLE

The Virtual Patient Care Coordinator is a remote role focused on ensuring that all administrative obstacles to patient care are resolved. This role will work closely with different departments to make sure the financial, scheduling, and care concerns of patients are effectively resolved prior to treating a patient. The Virtual Patient Care Coordinator is an integral part of the day-to-day operations at OPTIMAL HEALTH COMMUNITY LIMITED. Ideal candidates must be able to multi-talk in a fast-paced health care environment, possess strong communication, interpersonal skills, and analytical skills and most importantly, have high quality customer service skills.


RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Updating appointment upon receipt of new clinical information
  • Checking-in patients in our system
  • Working with Specialty Pharmacies and Manufacturers for specific medication needs
  • Reviewing market schedules for upcoming appointments and ensuring patients are ready for treatment
  • Answer calls within the center and market as appropriate
  • Schedule, reschedule, and follow-up with patients for necessary appointments via phone, text, and email
  • Resolving treatment issues with appropriate clinical staff
  • Ensuring accuracy of patient insurance and resolving eligibility issues
  • Ensuring accuracy of insurance authorizations as needed
  • Re-onboarding patients returning to our care


WAGE RANGE

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and is benchmarked against similar organizations to our size and industry. For our Virtual Patient Care Coordinator role, we generally pay new hires between $17.00 and $22.00/hr. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for roles and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. In addition to cash pay, full-time regular positions are eligible for 401(k), health benefits, and other company benefits; some of these benefits may also be available for part-time positions.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Takes initiative and capitalizes on all opportunities to improve department efficiency and effectiveness
  • Excellent organizational, consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to fast-paced work environment
  • Proficiency with standard office software applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and effectively prioritize workload
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate at all levels of an organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adjust communication style to match audience
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Ability to read and review insurance plan information and knowledge of insurance portals
  • Ability to learn and utilize Electronic Medical Record systems, Practice Management platforms and other software programs


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 2 Year / Associates Degree preferred
  • 1-2 years using EMRs and/or practice management systems
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years of clerical / administrative experience in a medical office setting preferred
