Job Description

Plans, coordinates, edits, and produces all videography used by the University's Athletics Department. Provides day-to-day video services, including film collection, practice, and game video support. Liaises with Division of IT and Athletics Communications area to create content and materials.

  • Acquires films on upcoming opponents.
  • Assists in maintaining and monitoring video department budget. Conducts research on cost/benefit analysis for video needs to ensure most efficient use of Athletic budget.
  • Oversees and handles all video and technological needs for coaches as it relates to Athletic specific sports systems and equipment.
  • Produces and delivers all creative video content for weekly highlights using appropriate video editing platforms.
  • Responds to requests for video needs, including game analysis, scouting, and instructional training purposes. Downloads professional film for student athlete education purposes.
  • Serves as a liaison with the Division of IT, Athletics Business Office, and Athletics Media Relations.
  • Provides support and equipment setup for all team meetings, locker rooms, and practices.
  • Ensures all equipment is kept up to date and in working order. Recommends purchase of new equipment and supplies and performs routine maintenance for all equipment. Informs management of preventative maintenance and repairs on instructional media equipment and coordinates equipment to be outsourced for repair.
  • Trains faculty, staff, and students on the operation of associated equipment.
  • Adhere to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Conference USA and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of Media Relations Coordinator. Report any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and be responsible for the monitoring of any subordinate as it relates to NCAA regulations.
  • Supervise student workers, volunteers, and temporary employees in the video department.
  • Films all home and away games according to C-USA and NCAA Rules.
  • Prepares and executes a schedule of production to complete and regularly communicates progress.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Edits practice and game film on specific sports system and equipment for coaches and student-athletes including, but not limited to data break down, cutups, overlays, headings, and reports.
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of state of art technology and systems as it relates to the Athletic industry.
  • Remains current with all technology rules and changes within the University and NCAA.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
