SHSO- Executive ServicesJob Shift:
Directs service delivery of all Patient Access processes, practices, and system support across our organization. Builds a transformational organization culture through the execution of, support around and communication of identified Patient Access goals. Develops and controls all tasks necessary to ensure all Patient Access activities are completed on-time, including building relationships with internal and external clients across Sutter Health. Accountable for making strategic decisions based on organizational issues, trends and business implications, keeping in mind a Sutter-wide perspective which could have regional/local implications. Provides complex analysis, advice and coaching in response to business issues and executes appropriate shared services Patient Access strategy. Makes decisions in fast-paced, fluid environment where limited precedents exist; actively collaborates with key business and functional partners accurately and within defined service level agreements. Leads provision of effective/efficient services with an optimal balance among cost, efficiency and service delivery.:
Education:
- Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Administration, Business Administration or related field required or equivalent education/experience
- Bachelor’s required
Experience:
- 8 years experience in budget preparation and planning, development and monitoring of staff productivity systems analysis and tracking, quality improvement and establishment of quality standards and monitors and the implementation of other key management control systems.
- 8 years experience developing Patient Access standards, processes, policies, procedures and service level agreements.
- 8 years of leadership experience in Patient Access management and clinical documentation in an acute hospital of significant size and complexity, hospital business operations, information systems, and patient accounting applications.
- 8 years experience managing complex/ large scale/ transformational projects, including demonstrated success in coordinating major projects and implementation of successful cost containment initiatives
Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced principles, methods, and techniques related to compliant healthcare billing/collections.
- Knowledge of utilization review principles/practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Access best practices, Epic capabilities, The Joint Commission accreditation standards, state licensing requirements, and state and federal laws, standards, rules, regulations and requirements governing the confidentiality of patient information.
- Knowledge of Patient Access Patient Management information system applications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Patient Access functions in acute and non-acute settings
Skills:
- Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and written to influence others using one-on-one contact, formal presentations, and group discussions
- Ability to identify, prioritize, resolve and / or escalate complex problems promptly
- Effective internal consulting skills along with the ability to positively influence others in a desired direction to achieve identified outcomes .
- Aptitude to conceptualize, plan, and implement stated goals and objectives
- Ability to utilize detailed/ complex information technology to maximize the efficiency and quality of revenue cycle activities; analyze and interpret complex data and draw logical conclusions to develop and address revenue cycle operational processes
- Ability to develop effective working relationships/ networks within and outside the organization
- Computer skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, database applications (Microsoft suite preferred) and an awareness of applications relevant to Patient Access
- Ability to set strategy and provide superior knowledge of business processes and enabling technologies, specifically in Patient Access functions
- Ability to successfully manage high level negotiations
Travel: Travel to all Northern California regions as needed to support the work
Pay Range: $143.03 - $193.51 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
