As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Strategic Sourcing to join our team.


Position Overview:

As the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for leading and managing our sourcing activities, ensuring the efficient procurement of raw materials, components, and services necessary for our manufacturing processes. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies, optimizing costs, and driving supplier performance to support our overall business objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement best practices in strategic sourcing, including vendor selection, evaluation, and performance management, while continuously driving process improvements.
  • Lead a team of 5 direct reports and provide guidance, mentorship, and support in their professional development.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market conditions to drive innovation and optimize sourcing strategies.
  • Develop and execute the strategic sourcing vision and objectives aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and manage a team of approximately 50 indirect reports, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration across sourcing activities.
  • Develop and manage the sourcing budget, tracking expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks associated with sourcing activities, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality, and finance, to identify sourcing needs, define specifications, and establish supplier requirements.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and evaluate their financial stability and overall performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve the best value and ensure a reliable supply chain.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using sourcing and procurement software and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, materials, and components.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective strategic sourcing strategies, including contract negotiations and supplier performance management.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving cost savings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, preferably with experience overseeing direct reports and indirect reports.
