About The Job


The role will be tasked with optimizing the logistics related revenue, costs, capital and service experience. This role requires the ability to apply technology, foresight and logistics knowledge to the Company’s business models in a manner that improves the Company’s logistics capabilities, sourcing, delivery and customer service expectations. This role requires a strategic mindset and broad exposure to transportation industry best practices, with the ability to visualize, conceptualize and drive the WillScot Mobile Mini Supply Chain Logistics Strategy.


As a thought leader, subject matter expert, we’ll look to this role to balance principles and pragmatism with the driving of efficient change across the company through collaboration. This role will collaborate closely with the Field Divisional SVP’s, Commercial Directors, and Operations Directors to improve our overall logistics commercial and operations productivity. Additionally, this role will collaborate with functional leadership roles such as the VP of network Optimization to enhance our product availability across our 250 branch network, the Director of Supply Chain to enable hub and spoke material management, the Chief Information Officer to establish tech enabled system enhancements, and the Sr Director of Pricing to continue to improve our overall pricing strategy in logistics.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Collaborate cross functionally and with senior leaders to ensure execute the vision and strategy
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasting, focusing on resourcing and staying in tune with market trends to provide industry analysis-based recommendations
  • Drive the strategic direction and roadmap for the Company’s logistics function ensuring we have the resources and the technology that best supports and aligns with the business objectives Emphasis being placed on carrier safety, private fleet transportation management – dispatching, technology compliance and contract negotiation
  • Design, implement, execute and administer Company-wide Strategic sourcing initiatives inclusive of purchased transportation, planning, procurement, supplier management, scheduling, maintenance and fuel, and other supply chain systems
  • Drive technological and analytical rigor and deep analysis on effectiveness of existing programs; establish and drive key metrics including efficiencies, cost analyses and opportunities
  • Leverages NPS process to frequently assess and continually improve customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and CIO in order to better leverage the related delivery and pick-up experience to present professional equipment and associates as well as potential up-sell opportunities.
  • Lead Logistics teams through organizational change associated with potential future mergers & acquisitions with detailed focus on logistics and site service acquisitions.
  • Capable of applying new logistic strategies that consider the Company’s current and future constraints to its demand and logistics infrastructure
  • Experience in managing project based installation projects where many interdependent services must be planned and scheduled and carefully coordinated to meet customer completion requirements.
  • Ability to manage centralized and decentralized dispatch models for over 250 locations nationwide
  • Capable of evaluating and recommending fleet needs consistent with the Company’s ESG goals and business needs
  • Lead and guide a team of supply chain and logistics professionals, challenging the current state and continue to build, harmonize and respond to future needs
  • Ability to review and recommended strategic change based on logistic cost structures, trend data, customer requirements, supplier performance, and performance data, with the ability to have visibility to future logistic performance and needs of the Company
  • Design, implement, execute route-based technology enhancements for Units, Accessories, and Services to simplify and evolve with business requirements shifts.
  • Oversight and process improvement initiatives focused on demand planning management, manufacturing, subcontracting, materials management, supplier quality & distribution
  • Designs, develops and implements a standardized logistics strategy program that aligns with short and long-term business goals and objectives
  • Capable of creating a single source of truth related to data, sourcing and delivery that allows for efficient changes in services without material reduction in service level


Education And Qualifications


Required Education and Experience:


  • 5+ years of experience in top-tier management consulting firm focused supply chain & logistics
  • 10+ years of experience as head of Logistics for a publicly traded, multi-national company- route based industry preferred
  • Experience operating in matrix or other ambiguous, complex organizational structure
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field. Master’s degree - MBA highly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in General Management (including P&L ownership) in a relevant industry

Physical Requirements


  • In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and to move about the various work environments to train, monitor and ensure compliance with all company sales requirements. The employee must be able to verbally communicate with employees, co-workers, and customers in person and by phone. The employee must also be able to travel to various work environments. Frequent and extended overnight travel is required.


Work Environment


  • The ability to perform work in a variety of work environments from a professional office environment to branch environment to customer construction sites is required
