Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Logistics Manager - Transportation (Level K) to join our dynamic team in Transportation, Warehousing, & Logistics (TWL) leading our Central Operations Outbound Shipping team in Mesa, Arizona.


This position will have the ability to influence and impact over $500M in yearly spending. The Logistics Manager will lead a team of highly skilled professionals working domestic and international projects in both the commercial and government sectors.

This position will involve travel (up to 25%) to other Boeing locations where direct report personal reside.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Design routes, methods, process, and procedures that deliver results at the lowest landed cost
  • Acquire resource for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  • Establish performance metrics and monitor critical supply chain service providers with the appropriate detail and frequency to determine trends and financial deterioration well in advance of actual performance impact
  • Engage and support export compliance regulation initiatives and changes
  • Manage carriers/providers in the performance of their statement of work; tracks performance metrics, leads business reviews, and establishes corrective actions as needed
  • Establish and maintain enterprise-wide early-warning systems to highlight risk exposure, minimize financial impacts, and prevent production line interruptions
  • Identify and employ innovative and cost-effective technologies and management processes to achieve better service and business results
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Drive a service culture mindset within TWL and Boeing Supply Chain to enable business partners and employees to achieve performance excellence at a competitive cost
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage and integrate employee activities across more than one area (multiple sites) in materials management and transportation
  • Collaborate with site specific business partners and support project initiatives for continuous improvement and production rate ramps
  • Identify and develop supply chain risk mitigation processes, procedures and plans
  • Develop and maintain report with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), internal government affiliated business partners, and contracting teams for support of Foreign Military Sales, and other government related freight moves
  • Influence decisions on best mode of transportation to carry freight on behalf of Boeing and subsidiaries
  • Identify logistics and ordering strategies to reduce overall inventory levels
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees and teams
  • Develop and execute integrated organizational strategies and plans
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals
  • Partner with Third-party logistics (3PL) service providers for improved customer satisfaction


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.
  • 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience working in Supply Chain, Logistics or Material Management Services
  • Must be willing and able to travel (up to 25%)
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing process improvement projects
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • 5+ years of experience managing or leading people or teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience with data and/or predictive analytics experience
  • 5+ years of experience in domestic and international supply chain logistics
  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing quality, cost, and service initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience in a role supporting 24/7 aerospace manufacturing/production operations environment
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain risk mitigation protocols, practices and policies as well as Compliance

Summary pay range: $108,000 - $132,000
