General Summary


  • The Health Equity executive responsible for developing and leading strategies to identify inequities in clinical care and eliminate health disparities. Focus includes influencing clinical care algorithms and practice guidelines, impacting health policy development, supporting the development and implementation of incentives for health equity, and engaging our diverse communities around health.


Qualifications


Education and Experience


  • Ten years’ increasingly responsible experience in corporate, non-profit or government setting.
  • Master’s degree in public health, business or related field. Clinician preferred.


Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Credibility to influence subordinates, peers, and executive management. Able to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships across the organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of government regulations for compliance in health care industry, including JCAHO, and State Health.
  • Knowledge of current state and national healthcare issues and initiatives.
  • Proven success in developing multicultural initiatives and addressing healthcare disparities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare principles and the functioning of an acute care hospital as well as other related entities.
  • Knowledge of public affairs principles and practices
  • Knowledge of staff and line responsibilities, management structure and the process of complex healthcare organizations.
  • Strong leadership and client engagement skills; an individual who can drive change within a large, diverse population, inspire a strong sense of camaraderie and accountability and motivate continuous improvement.
  • Able to translate vision and strategy into clear actionable goals.
  • Knowledge of state and federal government organization and legislative processes.
  • Understanding of principles of advocacy and social constructs that impact consumer health
  • Excellent strategic and process thinking abilities
  • Strong business acumen and highly developed analytical skills, as well as superior judgment.
  • Results driven and metrics focused; track record of execution and outstanding client satisfaction. Skilled at both strategy/planning and detailed execution roles.
